Clicking on a dmg in the download bar in chrome doesn't bring the finder folder to the foreground on the mac. Google Chrome version (type in about:version into the address bar).I finally downloaded Google Chrome, downloaded the software again and it opened. All that popped up was that the disk image could not be recognized. Disk Utility cannot open files in the “Disk Image” format. The document “Example.dmg” could not be opened.I switched to firefox and bingo! (My system is a macbook pro 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 running Lion - but this may be irrelevant). I was downloading.dmg files with chrome and could not get the system to recognize them. This is almost certainly a.dmg file that was not downloaded correctly.
